Carlsbad Beach, although mostly covered in cobble stones, does offer a great location for a beach wedding in San Diego. The permitting application is relatively simple and the lifeguards are helpful. My suggestion is to plan your beach wedding at low tide to maximize the amount of beach you have to work with. When doing the wedding photography, the light is always better the closer you get to sunset, so if you have any flexibility in your plans then plan for your wedding photos as close to sunset as possible.
